This Week's Story Vocabulary:
This week we are working on Dictionary-Glossary and Unknown Words.
- You can use a glossary or a dictionary to find the meanings of unknown words.
- If you don't know the meaning of a word it is an unknown word.
- Entries in glossaries and dictionaries are in alphabetical order.
gear - equipment needed for some purpose
parka - a jacket with a hood
splendid - magnificent or grand
twitch - to move with a quick jerk
willow - a tree with tough slender branches
yanked - pulled or jerked
Conventions Declarative & Interrogative A sentence that tells something is a statement. It is called a declarative sentence. A sentence that asks something is a question. It is called an interrogative sentence.
